I have desired to go to Africa and work as a missionary since I was a small child. I was greatly influenced by a former member of our local church, Missionary M.M. Jackson. She was an active supporter of the Missions Department of the Church of God in Christ and sent money and donations to Missionary Lott, a pioneer missionary in Liberia (West African country). In May of 1998, I was privileged to be a part of a short-term missionary tour to South Africa which was sponsored by some local churches in Central Texas. I was truly convicted during this visit that my childhood desires were inspired by God. In September of 2000, I returned to South Africa as a full-time Missionary. It is my vision/purpose to be a blessing there in ministry of the word and in demonstration of the Holy Ghost. Any support that can be sown into this sponsorship would be greatly appreciated. Please pray with me for the success my continued tours.

Mission to South Africa May 2006

I greet everyone in the precious and Holy name of Jesus Christ. It is a pleasure to be able to provide an update on what God has been doing. Since the last newsletter God has been blessing tremendously.

I have been so blessed to engage in full-time missionary work since 2000. I am headquartered in Durban, South Africa, but I minister to everyone to whom God opens doors for me. My diversity of training has allowed me to be able to tailor a ministry that impacts various members of society based on my gifting.

I minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Word and Song. I returned to Durban on June 4, 2005 and immediately immersed into ministry there. I am involved in speaking at churches, conferences and seminars. It has also been my privilege to counsel those in need and offer godly counsel for their crisis situations. In this newsletter I will highlight some of the more memorable activities of the previous 9 months tour. I have structured my tours to allow 3 months in the USA so that I may work on sponsorship and then utilize 9 months each year in international missions/ministry.

Trip to Accra, Ghana
The Lord opened a vital ministry opportunity for me before I left the USA in 2005. I was offered an opportunity to be the Kingdom Builders Ministry Network, representative in Africa. Because of this connection, I was invited to speak in a revival /conference in Accra, Ghana. I was invited by Pastor D. Ghansah. It was a ordained appointment and God honored our time there. I was privileged to speak on the radio with Apostle Justin Bentil, pastor of the Kingdom Power Chapel International, and had a marvelous time declaring the will and ways of God on radio and at his church. I was there for three weeks and God was faithful and allowed me to meet men and women of God who has impacted my life for eternal purposes. Another one of the mighty men of God I ministered for was Rev. G. A. Ghanem, pastor of the Full Armour of God Ministries, Int’l. The Holy Ghost blessed, delivered and healed souls according to God’s Word!

While there I was also privileged to meet a wonderful man of God from Monrovia, Liberia in the person of Rev. Anthony Buah, pastor/founder of Divine Faith Ministries International. He has invited me to come to his ministry in August of 2006 and I am making preparation to do so. It promises to be a wonderful time of ministry/leadership training. I look forward to this opportunity and desire your prayers that God will be glorified and His kingdom agenda will be manifested on every level.

I will never forget the people of Ghana! These are very gracious, loving and courteous people who are in my heart even until today. I just know that our connection is part of a kingdom agenda! I look forward to returning and know that God will orchestrate that eventuality in the future. I have learned that when God guides, he provides and he does it well!!

Cedarville, South Africa Champaign
God blessed me to take part in a tent Champaign in a rural community in South Africa. The Lord met us in a mighty way. I was part of a ministry team from Souls Outreach Ministry, Durban, South Africa. The Lord, healed, delivered, saved and added to the church during this week revival. Over 70 children and teenagers were saved. I spent days in discipleship training with the youth and was blessed to see the faithfulness of God. Each night the attendance among the youth increased. Amazingly, the boys outnumbered the girls!

Limpopo Province, South Africa - March Champaign
God honored my time in the Limpopo province of South Africa. I was invited to speak in a tent Champaign for Pastor Masinga. I spoke in two villages as well as the cities of Giyani and Malumulele. God healed, delivered and saved during this time of ministry. The ministry in the Word was so rewarding and illuminating firstly to me, and then to the listeners. I was so blessed at God’s faithfulness. Additionally, God opened a ministry opportunity with Dr. Elijah Mtileni, pastor of the Bethesda Christian Church in Malumulele. God always blesses when we seek His face, but the actualization of those blessings is always awesome.

Extended Fasts !!
Africa is a place where people know how to fast and God is working to restore this pillar of the Christian faith to believers everywhere. In August of 2005 I was able to undertake a 21 day total fast with success prior to my trip to Ghana and God rewarded my endeavors there.

I have wanted to do a prophets fast or a 40 days total fast for some time and on January 2- February 10, 2006, God allowed me to accomplish a godly desire to move closer behind the veil. I know that all the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the spiritual insight I experienced in the Limpopo Province are related to this return to extended fasting. I am so excited about what fasting unlocks to believers that my local church, 1st Church of God in Christ, 615 E Ave. D. is allowing me to host a prayer and Fasting Conference on the 18-20 of May 2006. We will have daily sessions from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and nightly sessions beginning at 7:00 p.m. I know that God is going to reward this endeavor as we partner with local churches in the surrounding area to petition God to pour out His Spirit on his sons/daughters; to release the church to a higher dimension; to pour out His Spirit on this nation and the world and to let His kingdom come in manifest power as promised in Acts. 2:16-21. Please pray for the success of this joint venture.

Johannesburg/Cape Town Ministry
I was subsequently invited to minister in Johannesburg and Cape Town, prior to returning to the USA. God met us in a mighty way and confirmed His word with signs, wonders and miracles. It was a wonderful time to watch God move and be reminded that God ordained appointments are predetermined by God - all we need to do is report for duty!

On Going Ministry in Durban
Ever since I came to Durban, South Africa, my on-going commitment is to make a difference in the community as well as the church. When not involved in Champaign’s, conferences or revivals, I volunteer one day a week with the YMCA on the campus of the University of KwaZulu Natal. I am privileged to volunteer administratively with the General Secretary at this facility. It is a wonderful opportunity to minister to young adults on campus as well. I was recently elected the secretary of the Board of Executives for this organization. I look forward to God maximizing my effectiveness within this spectrum of service.

I also volunteer one day a week at the Thekwini College -Melbourne Road Campus. I volunteer administratively here as well and have the same opportunity to pray for and interact with young adult students on campus. I know God uses this time to let my light shine among people of various belief systems and tenets. I stand in awe of what God is doing!

Additionally, I volunteer with the Quarry Heights Community Outreach Project. I was elected the president of the Board for this organization. It is quite a vote of confidence since I am often away due to ministry appointments and even as now, my furlough to the USA. I am still believing that God will use me there as well for His kingdom purposes.

Mission to South Africa Newsletter - Joyce W. Adams

    Greetings,

It is a pleasure to be able to write a newsletter once again. I have not written one since June 2004. I have to admit that 2004 was a year of great challenges, but God has proven himself to me in glorious and marvelous ways. I greet everyone of you in the precious and unfailing name of Jesus Christ. He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore!
I returned to the States for my annual furlough on April 1, 2005 and was able to stay there until May 29, 2005 when I returned to Durban. I had a wonderful time at home and we celebrated my mother’s 80th Birthday during my visit. God has granted my mother good health and longevity of life. I am so blessed by her life and example. I flew via Zurich and had a 12 hour layover there. As usual, I went to a hotel to rest up for 6 hours before returning to the airport to resume my flight to Durban. It takes 3 days to get back and it is amazing just how tiring it can be to fly for hours on end, but my God is always faithful and I sleep most of the trip! I arrived safely to the Durban airport and was met by my dear friend Connie Fynn. She and her husband, Frank, are my family in South Africa. I never cease to thank God for their presence and love in my life.love in my life. I pray God’s favor upon their lives and ministry.

    Update
I will provide an update on what has been happening since I last wrote a newsletter. When I wrote last year I told of my upcoming trip to Cairo, Egypt and Manchester, England. I left on June 15 and flew through Egypt to Manchester. My friend Laila and I had a glorious trip. We were there to minister once again in a local assembly. God was faithful and we did quite a bit of personal evangelism, door-to-door witnessing and revival at that assembly. To our delight, we were treated to a day trip to Edinburgh, Scotland just before we returned. On the 30th of June we left London for Cairo. We were met by the host family and went home with them. As usual, the pastor and family were so very gracious to us. We had a wonderful time of ministry there as well.
We had opportunities to speak at two assemblies and at their annual conference. This is an Assembly of God ministry as well as the one in Manchester. There was one sad note during this trip, with one of the pastor’s wife dying during our conference. The conference was subsequently cancelled early and we returned to Cairo for the funeral. Our prayers are still with those families.
We returned to Durban on the 14th of June. Just prior to our Egypt/England trip Laila and I had attended a Women’s Conference in Isipingo, where we were prayed for and received prophetic ministry. One of the words were that healing of cancer would occur during that trip. We prayed for a man in Manchester who was dying of cancer and God has wonderfully healed him! What a mighty God we serve.
Upon returning, I became in my local ministry once again. As I have indicated in previous newsletters, I mentor several people in ministry. This is a source of ministry that brings me joy. I like to pour out to others what I have received. I also volunteer at the local YMCA on the University of Kwazulu Natal. This tour has provided many counseling opportunities. I have been involved with marital, pre-marital, grief, debt-management, etc. counseling and have seen God’s mighty hand of salvation. I also made a short-term return trip to the states for a family emergency.
God was faithful and I was able to minister there as well as attend our International Convention of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. in Memphis, Tenn. I returned to Durban on November 17th 2004, just in time for the Singles Conference in Rosetta.Publisher Volume Number 6 Issue Number 1 July 4, 2005 TextSingles Conference I was the speaker for a singles conference sponsored by the Inner Chamber Family Fellowship. We met at Rosetta, South Africa. Truly God ordained that conference and we were all blessed. The theme was: Single and Whole.
I had an opportunity to speak in area of ministry for which I am very passionate. It is an area of ministry that is often overlooked or under-utilized in the general church body. I also had a time for one-on-one ministry with the participants and I have subsequently shared the printed resources with others that are addressing this same area of ministry. Everyone was blessed and I am confident that I will have future opportunities to share these truths. I would like to say in this format that marriage is ministry and everyone is not called to it. So, what do we do when we are single? What is our role as a believer? Every believer is to live a Holy life before God. To bring him glory in earth’s atmosphere and to a degree provide advertise-ment of who God is! Glory can be defined as giving the correct estimate of value. How can people know God’s worth if we, his followers, do not extol him in everything we do? To be single is natural, but to be single and whole is supernatural!

    Prayer & Praise Points
I am still trusting God for a carI want to thank God for blessing me with two camcorders. I am in the process of getting the equipment needed to utilize the one I brought to Africa, but I am confident I will be able to record some events for display during my furlough next April. The sale of my home in three days! I always spend 90 days furlough in the states each year and I had many people praying with me for the sale on my home during my stay. God showed me just how faithful and infinite are his ways. I signed a contract on a Friday and the house sold the following Monday! I completed the final edit on my book and am trusting God for the funds ($2000.00 ) to start a publish by demand of the book as soon as possible.
I recently partnered with Apostle Terence and Prophetess Jacqueline Townsend via the Kingdom Builders Ministry. I have agreed to be their representative in Africa. I know that this is a divine appointment and connection and praise God for his ways. Praise God that Inner Chamber Family Fellowship has partnered with me for sponsorship in 2005! New ministry opportunities in Ghana, Liberia and Nigeria. I know that God has plans that I am walking into by faith. An official website created by Apostle Townsend for my use: http://www.ourchurch.com/member/m/MissionSAfrica.

    Upcoming release of my book!
Financial breakthrough for the missions trips into other African nations.ContributionsMay be sent to the following address: P. O. Box 1885, Temple, Texas 76503-1885. I in turn promise to do the following:Faithfully invest my life full-time for Jesus Christ so that I may see lives changed for His glory! To inform you of my progress through prayer/newsletters. Pray for you and the needs of your family and ministry. Be strictly accountable for the use of these funds within the policies of the Mission to South Africa Ministry, Inc.

May God bless you abundantly now and forever as we work to see His kingdom come and His will be done. I am confident that He who has begun a good work in me is faithful and will complete it in due season.
